The Other Me

Simone Muench asked us to get autobiographical and write a cento that is a self-portrait, or anthology of our life, utilizing lines and fragments from our own work.


Out of a feverish imagination,
Acidic blood traces
Created by the friction between surge
Inside the wings of birds.

I invoke the demon’s name:
Shadows waiting to catch an eye and run to the light,
Assembling meth crystals on a chain.
[Only a way into forever.]

In a very raw and cloudy morning,
Finding green obligations to fulfil:
A panicking gold fish for a heart
In the shivers wreaking havoc on your skin.

Alcoholic rhymes and verses will be attempted
[Sharp words, sharper still memories]
While I promise to betray neither them nor you.
[None of this was ever meant to be.]

Woody Leslie challenged us to do wordblocks!
The challenge is also technical so I have ran to Wordle.net for help
I chose “recipe” as my starting point

Rules:

mettendo a soqquadro l'appartamento

È morta dopo tre giorni Rosina Trotta,
91 anni, rapinata in strada alla periferia di Roma,
nel quartiere di Primavalle.

As usual, I end up having to count on my fingers. And they tell us poetry has to do with words! AH!


La parte infelice di Roma:
Tra buche e le voragini,
la macchina in terza fila,
a collina di rifiuti che
sa che il vigile non passa
e nuove tasse in arrivo.

Illegalità in arrivo
sfondò le bellezze di Roma:
Da Sydney a Parigi passa,
slalomeggia tra voragini,
manifesti abusivi che
se ne balla in terza fila.

Battito di mani in fila:
Il problema è in arrivo,
un gruppo di scooteristi che
nel secolo scorso a Roma
ha colline di voragini.
La città è sporca che passa.

Che ciclicamente non passa
[inscatolati ma in fila]
suoi rifiuti in voragini
senza termine in arrivo
e si crede straricca, Roma
con un automobilista che…

O un’ambulanza non passa
a finire tutti i romani che
lasciano divani a Roma
rispetta tradizione di fila
[divertenti, fin’ dall’arrivo]
ha sullo sfondo voragini.

Pure con i geni, voragini
per strada e poi dicono che
sa il vigile in arrivo.
Il bilancio in rosso passa
i trenini in terza fila:
Perché non trasformare Roma?
