In our series of "what can I possibly do with tomatoes which does NOT entail cooking?", the latest entry is granita (or sherbet)
I was going to make bloody Mary granita but what with the heat, I had the feeling it would not survive long enough in the sun to allow pictures (since alcohol has a lower freezing point).
So just liquidized tomatoes, salt, basil and a little oil, thrown in a icecream turbine:

Granita di pomodoro

It's heavenly.
However, it does melt very quickly in the heat.
No matter. I saved some for tomorrow's breakfast...
Wheeeeeeeeeeee!

(And darnation: Our neighbour gave me FOUR enormous tomatoes again today! Arrgh.)
