Spinach leaf

Never mind me, I am just playing with spinach...

As from today, you can read my short text "Silence" at Underwords, and see all the pictures provided in reply to Erin's challenge (including one of mine).

You poor thing...

Oh and in some other news, I have planned Giftmas Eve... )

Of course Some things are difficult to plan with any degree of accuracy (which is why there aren't any bathroom brakes planned, for instance). But that feels about right.

Now, of course, the next thing that will happen is Love poking me on the shoulder at 10:42, demanding his kiss and hug and protesting because we aren't on schedule. Thank goodness the cats can't read...

So it's Giftmas once more and the sound of seasonal music is - again - slowly driving me into a murderous mood.

But the season has its perks, in interesting lighting:

Now: back to work.

A day late, as I somehow managed to miss my plane yesterday.
Some parts of my brain got hooked on Guiness and mutinied, put a Jedi-like spell on my number reading abilities (a rather overkill, I am bad enough at numbers in general), causing me to believe my plane was at 19:00. I was so adamant that I never checked (I normally do. Repeatedly.)
It was at 17:00. Enough said.
Funny enough, the taxi driver I met this morning thought I had been delayed by the strikes in France...

There will be pictures and possibly some type of travelogue later on but in the mean time - and time feels quite mean right now - I'll leave you with a forbidden picture of the lovely spiral staircase in Trinity College Long Room.

Or rather. I have a crowd-themed picture published over at Qarrtsiluni.

Also (but not particularly related to sitting - with someone or alone - in the darkness, waiting - or not - for something to burst) I have a poem published at Folded Word "Golden Globes". A tad early in the season but we'll be getting there by and by.

Both out today. You'd think it was coordinated!
Have some more red people to celebrate:

Future installation by Alessandro Marcucci Pinoli
I have just received a message from Musée de l' Elysée that some images I had sent for their "We are all Photographers Now" exhibition had been displayed during "La Nuit des Musées" (yesterday night, apparently).

The theme was "Public Places" and I did not think they might accept the picture I sent them of the sea but they did, along with four other pictures:

Elysee - All Photographers Now! (2010-09-25, 8.22PM)

It's cool that they send you the proof of your works being projected.

Nothing is closer than you think

The weekend is creeping up - heralded by red clouds this morning - and probably closer than it did look in this mirror yesterday.

Take real facts.
Add a pinch of WTF
Shake, not stir.
Divide by 140.

Hey, a twitter story! )

That's one of the facts:

Befana

Which would be Epiphany but is celebrated in Italy as the day of the Befana, i.e. and old witch that goes around distributing sweets to nice children (and lumps of coal to naughty ones).

No Kings' Day cake tradition here, but I am baking chocolate cookies, to give around.
