Waffle lace

I wanted to use my flat waffle iron to make potato cakes so went to look for it in the garage.
I had not used it for about 8 or 9 years so first gave it a good cleaning.
And once that was done, why not make pancakes?



So I threw together:
100 g flour
1 egg
30 g butter
2 heaped teaspoons of sugar
And an unidentified quantity of milk (basically, I just added some until the consistency was just right)

The first ones shaped nicely but, toward the end of the dough, the waffles turned to lace.
So much so that they started to look like the tattered wings of butterflies...



Nice enough to eat butterflies!
