I should be writing my NaNo novel.
So OF COURSE I am feeling the pull to write you another blog about Dublin.
One of the first thing I did when getting there was to go look for Oscar Wilde's memorial.
I could say that unfortunately I found it...

The statue is actually remarkable in that it is built using different stones, to render the colours of his costume. But it is a trifle gaudy.
What I did like about the memorial is that it is situated in front of two other statues, one of a fetching woman, looking away:

Amd one of a partial male bust, also turned away from Oscar's:

I found it interesting to see where his stone eyes rest and where they do not:

The memorial is located in Merrion Square, next to lovely Saint Stephen's Green, which I found lovely and more reddish than actually green.

The reddish bit being spread to other parts of the city, in various guise:

The coloured building being the back of Dublin Castle, an otherwise fairly stern building:

But blue was also fairly common across the city: The police station!

Sidewalk sign for an historical pub.

Here be trouts and other fine foods (presumably another pub or restaurant - of which the city centre is full. How do they survive in this crisi I do not know.)

Portents of doom:

And fallen angels:

The people also seem to like going multi-colour (but maybe only for Halloween):

Notice the absence of GREEN?
To close this colourful visit, I raked my Dublin folder and finally found a little greenish plot, at Trinity College:

Green Ireland is safe!
The novel is doing very well. Thank you for asking.
