Those of you who have been following will know that I keep a blog dedicated to words and the beauty and general fun therof.

- End of commercial break -
Some time back in July, I stumbled upon a wonderful verb, which is "Footle".
Not terribly common, so I think I can safely blame Jack Vance for that one...
And since I had received loads of spambot attention on Twitter, I found that a little poem was appropriate.
So I did post the word, with its meaning, a little manipulation and the text of the poem, as per my usual Modus Operandi.

The post got a few comments from a vast array of reader friends - *hem*two*cough* - but since then it has also received the steady visit of Oriental spambots, who have regularly deposited message dealing with dating sites. In Japanese (as far as I could verify, I haven't translated them all). Ten of them so far.
All different.
So I am left to wonder:
- What makes those people think they can get visits to their sites from that one post. Or anyone of my other ones, for that matter?
AND
'- Why this one?

Is that because it was dedicated to spambots?
Is that a retortion measure?
Some sort of "Spambot of the World Unite!" thing?

The mind boggles, sizzles and - indeed - footles endlessly.
