Right.
Back to food porn.

This morning I went to a Croissant event at Tricolore, Via Urbana 126, in the Monti rione (area) of Rome.
This was organised in celebration of the fact that Tricolore had been selected as making the best croissant (not cornetto) in Rome by the readers of Tavole Romane.
The event was a roaring success and the croissants were chomped (or rather decimated) well before 11.15 (when the event was due to last until 12:00 - it pays to be an early bird).

Croissants!

They had gorgeous petits pains au chocolat too!

Pane Lariano
Lariano bread

Pane di segale e mele
Rye and apple bread.

I am right now having some of this very bread with the Vacherin Mont d'Or left from yesterday's raviolis. NO PICTURES. This is an intimate moment. You have to respect this type of things.

Hem.

Tricolore is everything: A bakery, a cooking school, a take away place for fancy panini, a shop where one can buy books and kitchen gadgets.
Le Sigh. I think I've fallen in love.

However, the place is not quite adequate for social gatherings on working days - there is more room available when no one is actually working in the kitchen - as we had to squeeze around the cooking stations to fall on our croissants and chat:

While in the kitchen, lunch was being prepared...

I am SO pitching the address to my Gourmet Club fellows...
